Facts

  • This was a high profile competition with a very original brief which once announced captured the imagination of the design profession.
  • The Client was looking from the outset to appoint a design team, capable of creating something pioneering and new, with whom they could develop innovative and clever designs for this key research project.
  • A key component of the brief was the ability for the structure to be moveable – the ice shelf is thin and it is likely that over time the structure will need to move further away from the melting edge of ice.
  • This was a client with a very specific and technical brief and we were involved in collating information to create a suitable briefing document which involved liaison with numerous stakeholders and senior decision makers.
