Facts
- This was a very high profile competition of national significance and that, once announced, attracted interest from around the world.
- The competition was widely advertised to attract international as well as national teams.
- This was a prestigious client group and consultation throughout the organisation was necessary at all stages of the competition.
- The ODA was looking to appoint high quality designers with whom they could develop innovative and striking design solutions. This new stadium had to be cutting edge and make a statement about cycling and the set a gold standard for London 2012.
- The competition involved a rigorous procurement route based on the OJEU processes.
- The ODA was a multi-layered organisation and we were involved in managing the competition through an approval process involving numerous stakeholders and presentations to senior decision makers.
