We are delighted to announce the winner of this wonderful competition to design a new park for London....
We had five extraordinary finalists in this competition. Each one brought something different and interesting to the project, and any one of the five could have created a truly spectacular project for our client.
So, it is great credit to the team led by James Corner Field Operations that it won through in the end. Huge congratulations!
In full, the winning team is:
James Corner Field Operations, with Piet Oudolf, vPPR Architects, Street Space, Hew Locke, Speirs + Major, Pentagram, AKT II, Atelier Ten, Tony Gee, and RLB
“Camden is such an extraordinary place, a vibrant, hip, and diverse community that will soon enjoy an amazingly unique, public green thread that ties its various communities together in ways both revelatory and transformative. We could not be more excited to work with residents and stakeholders to create a one-of-a-kind elevated park along the viaduct that speaks to the magical symbiosis of nature, culture, arts, and community.”
— James Corner, Field Operations
We wish our brilliant client and the winning team much fun and enjoyment bringing this amazing project to fruition.
The client is hosting an open Q&A session to discuss the Highline and the plans for the future. If you would like to attend follow this link.

“Every time we reach another milestone, I find myself thinking that I can’t believe we’ve come so far so quickly. Something that started as a bit of a mad idea is now going to be designed by a team of the finest people we could ever have hoped to work with. I cannot wait to see their ideas unfold and be put into practice.”
