Facts
- This was a multi-headed client group bringing English Partnerships together with the local authority
- This was a key infrastructure project in Stockton-on-Tees situated 1 kilometre downriver of Stockton town centre
- The client group wished to engage with the very best designers and the brief called for a prestigious and distinctive landmark bridge design solution.
- This is a pedestrian and cycle bridge and provides a vital link between Teesdale Business Park to the North of the River Tees and the University of Durham’s Queen’s campus to the South.
- The bridge forms a major part of the North Shore Redevelopment Project undertaken by Tees Vallley Regeneration to open up the waterfront close to Stockton town centre.
- The competition was widely advertised to attract international as well as national and local firms.
- The competition was run in accordance with EU procurement legislation.
