British Museum - announcing the shortlist

Five architect-led teams have been shortlisted to take part in Stage 2 of this competition. Selected from a wonderful array of over 60 international entries....

Teams were gathered from across six continents, offering a broad range of approaches and a wealth of experience.  It was encouraging to see recently formed practices, long-established firms, and intriguing collaborations of large and small players, all throwing their hats into the ring.

Given the calibre of submissions, the shortlisting process was intense but in the end, five clear contenders came to the fore.  The shortlisted teams that have been invited to take part in Stage 2 of the competition are:

  • 6a architects with Gitta Gschwendtner, Purcell, Arup, Studio ZNA, Kellenberger-White, LSA, David Bonnett Associates, AIS
  • David Chipperfield Architects with Plan A, Adamson Associates, Atelier Bruckner, Lobe Lloyd, Julian Harrap Architects, Atelier Ten, Arup, Reusefully, Alan Baxter Associates, AEA Consulting
