Equilibrium Network News

A unique opportunity to help steer this influential network and help make a meaningful contribution toward equality in our industry....

The Equilibrium Network is looking for a new Chair.

About the network

To find out more about the network and its activities visit the website.

Founded in 2014, EQN's aim is:

"To enable women to have equal influence in the design and delivery of the built environment."

With its multi-disciplinary focus, EQN empowers women in the built environment, by promoting inclusion, addressing attrition, and increasing female leadership and influence.

It has a very particular brand, based on a clear principle: it is not here to articulate problems but to suggest effective ways to move the industry forward.

EQN is currently a network of around 1,000 women and men, endorsing and supporting EQN’s aims in 50 countries across the world – and it continues to grow at a pace.

You can view the EQN Ethical Code here.

About the role of Chair

EQN is a not-for-profit organisation and the role of Chair is a pro bono appointment.

EQN's success to date has been achieved through the creative leadership of an interdisciplinary group of women with extraordinary personal expertise and connections to people of influence. The current Chair and Steering Group members are all volunteers, senior players in their professions, who share a desire to create a more balanced and diverse industry.

The Steering Group meets quarterly but the Chair’s role may, at times, require the equivalent commitment of around a day a month. It is likely therefore that the new Chair will have the support of a sympathetic employer.

If you are interested....

Given the interdisciplinary nature of EQN, interest is welcomed from architects, engineers, landscape architects, contractors, surveyors, policy makers, planners and urbanists, as well as those working in client organisations, academia, other built environment consultancies and institutes.
